EXPANDABLE MANDRELS

For the Erasan range of high Powered Winding Machines, often customers need to wind the foil or wire onto and air coil, which is then removed from the tooling and iron cores / laminations inserted afterwards.

Shown below are some of the previous designs we have made….

As can be seen in the photos, the expandable mandrel is finished with aluminium bars and Wood mounted on the outer diameter.

Each mandrel has a gearbox, gearbox built in (reductor), which is driven by a pneumatic hand tool,

to perform a fast open // close action of the mandrel - Saving operator time during the winding cycle.

for larger dimensions these can be replaced with hydraulic open close action.
